AboutLonely - Ancient - Lost in time
Tul is a truly ancient creature, there at the dawn of time, before animals even dared to leave the sea. A sea scorpion, one of many, in an endless sea. A time long gone by, memories long fragmented, pulled thin by the stretch of time. For they remember what they were but how they got lost, that is a mystery even to them. Yet Tul cares little, for their life before an esk was a short one. They have been an esk far longer than they ever were a creature of flesh and blood. They are lonely to their core, having witnessed so many creatures coming into life only for them, within the blink of an eye, to disappear. They want to keep their memories alive, in their own, fragmented way. Their familiars are thus memories brought to life to honor old friends lost to the seas of time. Still they stay lonely, for the seas are large and time is endless. Even esk, with their immortal lives, come and go. Tul is always on the move, guided by the currents and changing landmasses, so even if an esk would want to visit them again, chances are they already drifted away. Time is a weird thing. They have lived such a long life, longer than any creature has any right to live. It has its consequences, their memories are vague and fluid. Always changing. So is their perception of time. What even is time for one who lived this long? What is an hour to a century, a century to a millenia? They can’t keep track of it, as it just flows by. They let it. Minutes, hours, days, Tul does not know them. They live life in fragments, their consciousness catching up whenever they realize that life is not just an endless flow. It is strange, to witness animals rise up only to see them disappear a moment later, but it is life. As such, they are not the knowledgeable creature others may think them to be. Tul does not know much, they are just a simple sea scorpion, stuck in the river of time, only sometimes able to get their head above the surface. |
Boundary
A boundary as affected by the times as they themself are. How it has changed. Always an ancient seafloor, no matter how far removed from the seas. Even when the water is gone, the sand pulled away, grasses growing beneath them, it will stay an ancient seafloor. Whatever grows on it now, in their moments of clarity, will never change that.
As such It has been many things. The seafloor, the beach, a field. In current times the center of the large, extensive boundary is a field. A field of golden grasses that go one and on. It is a nice change of view, peaceful and quiet. The creatures here are strange, so different from those in the water. They do not float, they do not swim. Stuck to the ground, forced to never feel such freedom they once knew. Yet they live their lives, the same as every other creature out there |
