AboutTimid - Scaredy cat - Sweet
Big, how did he get so big? And this fluffy? Scorch is sure they weren't this before, yet they aren’t sure. What he does know is that this is strange. So much bigger than he has any right to be, towering above the earth and grass. It makes them feel seen, feel vulnerable. Scorch wants to hide, hide away from this big open space, crawl into a tiny earth den, safe from the prairie. It scares him, that he can’t hide away anymore, that everyone on the big open plains can see him. This body is strange, clumsy, walking in paws that are too big for him. He stumbles and falls, knocking others over when they get too close. Suffice to say, he is not used to this at all. Yet the strength, the speed, that this new shape grants him, he loves it. He was never this fast nor strong before, that he knows for sure. How he can race across the plains like he never could before. It feels right. Yet he doesn’t dare to leave, rather staying in this familiar place. Strangers scare him, until they turn out to be friendly, to be kind. But he is shy, not quick to reach out, to talk nor play. Any loud noise, sudden sounds or surprises spook him, send him running for a den he can no longer fit in. art by Daychorus

This insecure ball of nerves is just looking for his place in the big big world while trying to discover how he fits into it. He cares not for what he was, even if he is curious. The past is the past, yet it still has a hold on him. Fears and feelings that cling to him, even if he knows not their source, rule so much of his life. But he fights his own fears, taking little steps, trying to find out where he belongs.

Boundary
Scorch’s home is but a small part of the great plains of america. His home is a little grassland prairie with a little hill, an old den and a burned tree that still stands tall, despite the elements. Yet it didn’t always look like this. Once the grass was gone, burned. A single tree, scorched and dead, remained. It’s uncanny how quiet it is, how lifeless and how quickly it changed. New grasses sprouted, flowers followed. Scorch is not quite sure what to think of this quick change, yet the grass feels like home. He loves the grass, and loves racing over the fields. It is the one time where his timid nature breaks away and he looks truly free and happy.
