Aboutrestless - confused - preservering
Creak is a creature utterly confused by its own existence. Used to being pulled, they stood motionless for weeks on end, confused by why they would not move. Was it their missing companions? Where was the soft fur, the excited barks? They were all gone. No one to pull them. So, in the end, they took their first step. Once they started moving they couldn't stop. Wandering the frozen arctic like a ghost. They don’t talk, making no sound but the creaking of wood. An ever moving presence along their boundary, despite it being long abandoned. Never resting, never staying in the same place for long. Something inside of them itches them forward, keeps them moving, yet they do not understand why. If only they could meet those furry friends again. Keeps a silent watch over the frozen lands, though not that of a guardian. A silent observer, curious as to how the living work. Living is strange. To think, to move. Too flexible, this new shape and quite furry. That they don’t mind, helps keep those in the cold warm. Not always such a silent observer. Guides those lost in snow storms to a safe place. Cannot stand to watch innocents fall victim to something as fickle as the weather. A thought that's deeply ingrained in them, even if it’s unsure as to why that is. |

Boundary
Once a well traveled sled dog trail, gone cold and unused. Creak does not know why. There used to be many along these tracks, many mushers and dogs used to visit these parts. Now they are all gone. Snow untouched by wooden sleds, plants overtaking whatever semblance of a trail there once was. Large trees cross the path, fallen and long dead. A trail unusable for its original purpose.
Though not completely abandoned. While neither dog nor mushers frequents these trails anymore, animals do. Plenty track across it, unaware of the silent presence that observes them. Though none are the ones that Creak wishes would traverse these trails again. The trail crosses through forests and snowy fields, past frozen rivers and lakes. It is a long, winding trail with many paths. It saddens them that it has long been abandoned. |
